Desi-Fest' 15

Celebration of Desi- Festival at Fatima Jinnah Women University was festive, colourful and a full of entertainment.

The  Think Tank Society of Environmental Sciences department at Fatima Jinnah Women University took initiative this year and organized a fund-raiser . The most interesting thing was that  the theme was totally different from their their regular activities and studies . The theme was finalized as Desi and all the members dressed up in flashy/ traditional clothes at that day 

 There was a tappa competition, modelling ,  games, dancing and Jam session at the show. Food stalls were also arranged. There were three roumds of tappa competition and girls revived the punjabi tappas which was really revival of culture. After that modelling  was arranged in which approximately 26 girls participated in it. Musical chairs was the most interesting of all as random girls were chosen from the audience to play it. There was Gilgity dance and luddi also. 
Audience was not allowed to take any photos ( due to privacy measures) but to their surprise a special photo-booth was arranged for them in extra time in order to preserve their precious moments with their friends. At the very end A Jam session was also arranged in which the teachers also participated along with the students and enjoyed a lot.

It has been two days since I have been reading news about the recent change in the lives of "Pindi Boys", yes here I' refereeing to the new policy of Centaurus Mall, Islamabad.  People on other cities are again making fun as Islamabad couldn't handle a single mall? Banning Indian Content In Pakistan: Are the strategies enough?

The endless war between India and Pakistan has reached its brim after a break of nearly a decade. The different scenario encountered this time is that Pakistan has decided to answer India by banning the Indian content being aired in Pakistan; something which was needed from a long time.Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has decided to crackdown on the illegal Indian DTH (direct to home) channels. The Punjab government is collaborating on this issue in implementing this strategy. Not only this but Pakistani Cinema has also decided not to screen Indian content in response to the displacement of celebrities working in India.  Although these strategies seem quite effective yet there are many questions which need to be answered.
