World Earth day



While many organizations, schools and institutions celebrated this day today ( on 22th April, 2015) ;Google also put in its effort in making this day remember able. It is good to see its doodle dancing on our home pages as Earth it self is of great importance and should be created with great care. This year people form around the world (specially the environmentalists) try to raise awareness among the people about the Earth, its necessities and its right to be treated with dignity as Earth is not just a planet; it is that special heavenly body which sustains life! and lifeforms as well.

This year Global Earth day was also celebrated at Fatima Jinnah Women university by its Environmental Sciences department. The chief guest was from the department of Environment (Punjab) and guests from National Cleaner Production Centre( NCPC). The function started with the recitation of the holy Quran and then with a presentation about the importance of Earth and Earth day. After that the HOD of the department Dr. Shazia Iftikhar and the honourable chief guest about this day. The most interesting part was the movie played by the Think Tank Society #TTS " The day after Tomorrow" in which the other aspect of environmental shift (other than global warming) has been shown. Although there are a lot of flaws in the movie but the message is clear "Our dear planet needs  our attention. If it is benefiting us without any repayment it doesn't mean that it will not change at all....

Today I found this little piece of information in my personal "archives". It was probably the first ever assignment submitted at the beginning of my professional studies.
